New Beginnings

After years in the Army, one of the toughest questions I have to face is “What’s next?” As of today, I’m about 100 days out from my official transition. That number carries some serious weight; it’s both a countdown and a challenge.

Like many other veterans, I’m stepping back into civilian life with a mix of pride, uncertainty, and a blank slate (and a beautiful wife and incredible son too!). The structure and purpose I’d known for years is suddenly shifting, and the path ahead isn’t so clearly defined. There’s no TM, FM or TC I can reference to find the answers I need now. But instead of seeing that as a setback, I’ve come to view it as an opportunity. One that lets me grow, explore, and reinvent myself on my own terms.

What drew me to tech wasn’t just the money or the gear, it was the same sense of mission I found in the Army. I was an RTO for a while before I earned my stripes; I made detached elements talk to each other under pressure, and I realized I loved it. That experience planted the seed.

Now, I’m building on that foundation: earning certifications, learning constantly, and applying the same discipline and problem solving mindset to whatever I can get my hands on.

I’m not just transitioning; I’m evolving. And I’m excited to bring that drive, adaptability, and purpose into every network I help build. I’m actively shaping my future not just for me, but for the people that are counting on me too.
